Care & Maintenance

To preserve the quality and appearance of your new acrylic decking from ACP Designs, please follow these guidelines carefully:

Initial Care Instructions:

• 48-Hour Restriction: Avoid walking on or allowing pets on the new acrylic decking for at least 48 hours.
• 14-Day Water Precaution: Do not let standing water sit on the surface for any duration within the first 14 days.
• 10-Day Furniture Hold: Refrain from placing any furniture on the decking for 10 days.
• Tool and Debris Prevention: Keep landscape tools such as wheelbarrows, picks, shovels, etc., off the new acrylic decking. Ensure no dirt, debris, or mud is tracked over the deck.

Ongoing Maintenance Recommendations:

• Regular Cleaning: Use a leaf blower weekly to remove dirt or debris from the deck and occasionally hose off the acrylic surface as needed.
• Stubborn Stains: Clean high-traffic areas with a 3500 psi power washer as needed to remove stubborn stains.
• Water Level Management: Maintain the water level at mid-tile level; excessive water in the pool can damage the decking and void the warranty.
• Sealing: Preserve the decorative acrylic overlay by sealing the stamped material every 2-3 years.
• Warranty Maintenance: Regular maintenance is required to keep the warranty valid.

Stain Removal Tips:

• 30-Day Chemical Hold: Wait a full 30 days before using any chemicals or scrubbing on the new acrylic decking.
• General Stains: Use a stiff nylon brush and a mild detergent to scrub away stubborn stains, then hose off all excess cleaner/materials.
• Calcium Deposits: For whitish stains from standing water, scrub with Limeaway/CLR (available at local stores), let sit for 10 minutes, then rinse completely with a high-pressure power washer.
• Coffee, Soda, etc.: Clean with a mild detergent like SuperClean, an ACP Designs proprietary cleaner, water, and a stiff brush to ensure deep texture areas are cleaned.
• Oils/Lotions/Tire Marks/Grease: Use SuperClean, an ACP Designs proprietary cleaner/Simple Green/CLR (available at local stores), and a high-pressure power washer.
• Rust Stains: Treat rust stains with “Wink” rust remover or naval jelly (available at local stores).
• Persistent Stains: Additional touch-up paint is available upon request from our office.

Concrete Crack Handling:

• Existing Concrete: When remodeling existing concrete, ACP Designs will treat all cracks to the best of our ability. However, we cannot guarantee that existing cracks will not reappear, and these are not covered by our warranty.
• New Concrete: For new concrete installations, ACP Designs ensures careful installation and offers a full two-year limited warranty against cracking.

DURING & POST INSTALLATION

• Do not walk on or allow water to come into contact with ACP Designs surfaces for 48 hours in warmer months and 72 hours in cooler months.
• Do not place any patio furniture, barbecues, landscaping, tools, or any other heavy objects on ACP Designs surfaces for 7-10 days.
• For driveways installed by ACP Designs, do not drive on them for 21-28 days, depending on weather conditions.
• The curing process could be extended if ACP Designs surfaces are installed over new concrete. Concrete can take 28 days to cure. Do not place, scrape, or drag any heavy objects across the surfaces until the concrete has completely cured.
• ACP Designs recommends all furniture placed on the surface have plastic or felt protectors on legs. Do not set metal directly onto the surface.
• Door mats trap moisture underneath them. Regularly pick up the door mat and allow the area to thoroughly dry out.

MAINTENANCE RECOMMENDATIONS – All Applications

• Wipe up food, drink spills, oils, pool chemicals, or fertilizer immediately to avoid staining.
• Elevate plant pots to prevent stain rings.
• Occasionally hose off ACP Designs surfaces with a high-pressure nozzle to prevent dirt and stains from being ground into the deck.
• ACP Designs recommends periodically cleaning the surfaces using a hose with a high-pressure nozzle, a mild soap (like Dawn dish soap) and water solution, TSP (Tri-Sodium Phosphate), or ACP Designs Citrus Cleaner. Use a stiff broom or scrub brush to remove contaminants on surfaces. Rinse the surfaces thoroughly after scrubbing.
• Do not allow puddling or standing water to sit on the surface for long periods of time.

MAINTENANCE RECOMMENDATIONS – Commercial Applications

• All items listed in “All Applications” above.
• Cleaning must be performed regularly to prevent dirt, soils, or other foreign materials from being ground into the ACP Designs materials due to heavy foot traffic.
• Any chemical, salt, fertilizer, herbicide, pool chemicals, oil, drink spills, or acidic materials must be immediately removed.
